Free Education
Directorate of Education was established by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Worker Welfare Board in the end of March, 2000 for effective operationalization and monitoring of schools and to provide free education with allied facilities to the workers children in particular (Free of cost) and other students/non workers children in general (With Fee). The WWB Schools are established under the name of (“Working Folks Grammar Schools”)
Working Folks Grammar Schools are striving the following specific objectives:
- Highly qualified, experienced and committed teaching staff has been engaged to raise the academic achievements of the students through proper teaching methodologies, home assignments, formal and informal guidance and counseling sessions. Students are prepared to excel in Board examinations in order to strengthen their ability to adopt a profession of their choices.
- WFG schools lay particular emphasis on character development of students. Students are guided and encouraged to regulate their activities in such a manner that they can achieve Excellencies in various fields within the laid down rules. School honor code expects the students to speak the truth and respect others faith, beliefs and right of property etc. Students who repeatedly violate laid down rules and are found guilty of major breach of school discipline are expelled from the school.
- Special attention is paid to developing students ability to express themselves correctly, concisely and coherently both in English and Urdu. Particular attention is paid to develop writing and speaking abilities of students. Medium of instructions being English the students are encouraged to learn the use of English with greater proficiency. They are motivated to speak English during school timing.
- Arrangements are made to broaden students general awareness and breadth of outlook through discussions, informal teaching, library periods, screening of education films and visits to places of historical and geographical interest. Working Folks Grammar School system excepts the students to be fully aware of major national and international events. Global issues like environment and pollution etc are highlighted by holding discussions, debates and pictures shows. Lectures by the guest speakers are periodically arranged for staff and students on important issues. Important national days are regularly observed in the schools to create awareness of the significant events in our national life.
- The WFG school system lays great emphasis on personal hygiene and cleanliness. Students are encouraged, guided and educated to develop clean and healthy personal habits.
